Peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her residence in Winnipeg, Pearl MacDonald, formerly of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late John MacDonald passed away at the age of 82 years. Mom was born in Fife Lake Saskatchewan. She met the love of her life, dad, and after marrying in 1955 they moved to Portage la Prairie. They raise their daughters there and when the girls were older, mom worked in retail. Later they bought and she managed the Yellow Quill Motel. After she retired at age 50 she got to enjoy gardening more, and helping others. Mom always looked at life as one big adventure and took pleasure in simple things whether it be a cloud formation or the colourful trees. When the grandchildren came along she was thrilled. Mom was young at heart and loved playing with them. Family and her faith we're very important to mom. In later years, due to declining health, they moved to Winnipeg. When her great granddaughter was born she was so happy to spend time with her. She will be sadly missed, she was a sweet kind and generous soul who always made you feel good. Rest in peace mom. Pearl leaves to mourn her passing her daughters Sharryl (Ted Loewen), Darla MacDonald, and Gloria (James Wall), grandsons Matthew, Jacob, Zachary and Jason, granddaughter Alison (Scott Tuck) great granddaughter Finnley, sisters; Irene Yacucha, Clara (Frank) Johnston, brothers; Harvey, John, Ben (Linda), George, sister-in-law Helen Kessler, brother-in-law Jim MacDonald and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
