Peacefully, with family and friends by her side, Pamela Hasker died at the Riverview Health Centre on 8 April 2011. Pamela was predeceased by her parents Estelle and Bryant Hasker. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband David and their children Florian and Jordi; sister Diane Koch-Schulte (Michael) nieces Annelies and Isabel; sister-in-law Catherine Campbell (Paul) nieces Allison, Lauren; brother-in-law Glenn Kehrer (Kimberly), nieces Caroline, Kaitlin, and nephew Anthony; mother and father-in-law Iola and Tony Kehrer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Pamela was born in The Pas, Manitoba. She grew up in St.Vital on Cabot Crescent, and graduated from Dakota Collegiate. She completed her degree in physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba in 1985. Pamela was a dedicated employee at the St. Boniface General Hospital working there for 25 years. She provided excellent care and was a strong advocate for her patients.
Along with her life partner David, Pamela's greatest joys were the birth of their two sons Florian and Jordi. She lived for her children sharing her curiosity for life with them.
As a child Pamela loved to run fast, at first racing around a track and then later, as a young woman, chasing an ultimate disc over the goal line. Her unmistakeable red hair emblazoned her passion for life.
Pamela enjoyed many summers at Clearwater Lake north of The Pas where her love of nature was formed and strong bonds were created with the Hasker family. The lake tradition would continue later in life with her own family's cottage at Booster Lake. Surrounded by quiet beauty, Pamela, her family and their numerous friends thrived in the abundance of nature at Nopiming Park. Swimming, hiking, paddling and every imaginable game – rain or shine – kept the cabin overflowing with wonder, warmth and joy. Pamela explored ideas and grew through her many interests including: music, travelling, yoga, cooking (everyone loved Auntie Pam's pancakes!) gardening and above all else – books, books and more books!
The essence of Pamela was her special way of connecting with people. She was a warm, open, honest and kind woman. She loved to laugh, to visit and share a sweet. Pamela was spring as a flower.
Pamela was first challenged by breast cancer in 2002. She became a founding member of CancerCare's “Younger and Wiser” committee, which was the first organization of its kind established in Canada dedicated to helping and supporting young women diagnosed with breast cancer.
A special thanks to Pamela's loyal friends who were always there for her and her family, lending a helping hand or offering a tasty lasagne. The family would also like to thank all of the health care personnel at CancerCare, Manitoba Home Care and the Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Pamela's life will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., across from Brookside Cemetery.
