Bernice Fanning

With family at her side, on May 26, 2022 Bernice died at the age of 97, in Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. She was born August 10, 1924, in Grandview, Mb, to Elsie and Fleming Parrott, the youngest of five children and the only daughter. After early education in Grandview, she finished her Grade 12 sciences in Roblin, Mb. Bernice chose nursing at the Misericordia Hospital. Recruited by Dauphin General Hospital, she met and married her husband, and where her first two daughters were born. The young family moved to Winnipeg, where her second two daughters were born, completing the family. With the children in school, Bernice returned to work, at St Boniface Hospital, Labour & Delivery department. Her 37 years in that capacity, helping usher in new life, gave her tremendous pleasure.

Travel, jewelry, rocks, minerals, and world politics were Bernice’s hobbies.

Bernice was predeceased by both parents, and four older brothers, Donald, Victor, Colin, and David. She is survived by four daughters, Michelle Campbell Isaac (Jeff), Katherine Campbell Morley (Andrew), Shaunalee Campbell, Colleen Campbell Mountjoy, and five Grandchildren, and four Great Grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm August 10, 2022, at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on what would have been Bernice’s 98th Birthday.
