Obituary for Cheryl Lynne Toomer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Toomer, at the Victoria Hospital on September 28, 2020 at the age of 71 years.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years Gregory, son Ryan, mother Barbara, brothers Jeffrey (Heather) and Garry, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey, father David, and mother-in-law Margret.

Cheryl was born in Winnipeg, grew up in East Kildonan and attended Miles Mac. She worked for an insurance company and then Imperial Oil until the depot closed. Cheryl obtained her realty license, and then worked as a secretary for Harstone United Church when the boys were young, and then the Winnipeg Free Press until her retirement.

Cheryl had a love for antiques and collectibles, participated in clubs and shows, and was involved in family genealogy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
As per Cheryl’s wishes in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Wpg. MB. R3E 0V9 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd. Wpg. MB. R3P 2T5.
