Obituary for Christopher John Carlson

CHRISTOPHER JOHN CARLSON

It is with great sadness that Christopher John Carlson has passed away. Chris passed on December 15, 2022. He had just turned 70 on December 9, and was very proud of that because he always thought he would only live to be 40. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, Daughter Donna Carlson of Winnipeg Beach, Son Dan (Donna Lynn) Carlson, special grandchildren Jacob and Linkin of St Adolphe. Chris also leaves to mourn his passing, brothers Bill, Russ and their families. Chris was preceded by his mother Patricia Wilson and brother Ken.

Chris had requested to be cremated and not have a service, He did not want people to mourn him he wanted them to celebrate. The cremation was carried out by Neil Bardell Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave Winnipeg MB

In his early years Chris went to Red River College and took a meat cutting course which led him to becoming a Meat Manager in Winnipeg, MB and shortly after in Calgary, Alberta. This also led him to his passion for cooking. He then formed his own Janitorial company but eventually, as fate would have it, Chris’s numerous ailments prevented him from working outside the home. He then looked after the kids and got involved with their school activities. All the time still creating different meals and any thing you wanted to try, he could make. If you were lucky enough to have had one of his meals you know you would have a large smile on your face, and a full belly.

Chris loved being on the Internet and it was something he could do for long periods of time. He gained a lot of knowledge and knew what was happening around the world and at home. Chris was a smart man and had a sincere answer to questions anyone would have. He also liked to talk to people and joke with them and he always had a story to tell. Chris and Diane were together 49 years and he could still tell a story that Diane had not heard before.

Chris will be immensely missed
