Obituary for Colleen Patricia Moore

With grief filled hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Colleen Patricia Moore on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, age 68, after a courageous battle with cancer with her son Jamie at her side.

Colleen was born in Winnipeg on February 9, 1954 to Bill and Geraldine Moore and grew up in East Kildonan. She leaves to mourn her partner Husband Chris and son Jamie, sister Carol and husband George Glenn; sister-in-law, Kathi Moore and brother-in-law Simon Wall; also nephew, Kevin; nieces, Alison and Jennifer, all from the UK.

Colleen was predeceased by her dear Grandma Beth Moore (1995); mom, Geraldine (2003), dad, Bill (2016), brother Les (2020) and sister Maureen (2020).

Colleen was a caring and loving person and had a great sense of humour. She was always ready and willing to help anyone whether it be family, friends, neighbours or anyone else who needed a hand. She showed this early in her life when she volunteered with the Cub Pack. She also was very involved in a Saturday Bowling League Program for person with special needs. She also was on the Board of Directors for S.P.I.K.E. (Special People in East Kildonan)

At her first job in accounting in 1974, Colleen met Chris and they were friends for years until Love blossomed and they had been together for years.

Colleen loved to garden and was always so busy this time of year, harvesting her apples for her infamous apple butter sauce, apple juice, and anything else she could make from her apples. She also had a huge grape vine from which she made grape juice and jellies. Most of these delicious items were given to family and friends.
In earlier years Colleen with her mom, dad, siblings and cousins spent many enjoyable summers at Brereton Lake – once even tried water skiing!

When Colleen bought her first car the family decided she had to learn how the change a tire and with her allows present determination she did it.
Colleen’s quieter moments were spent doing jigsaw puzzles and sharing company with her neighbours Bob and Deanne.

If people so wish, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in Colleen’s memory.
