DONALD LESLIE “BUTCH” DEWAR
1953 - 2022
Donald (Butch) Dewar passed away peacefully in the early morning on December 21st, 2022.
Born to Donald and Audrey Dewar on July 11, 1953. He was the second born of 5 siblings, Wendy, Robert, David and Alex.
In his youth he enjoyed playing sports and was a lifelong sports fan of hockey, golf, football, baseball and had a profound love of music.
Butch worked at Atlas Graham as a production manager for 33 years. During this time, he met the love of his life Francie and married her in 1978.
Butch loved and cared for his 2 sons, Christopher and Kevin and was a father figure to Maria, Essie, Carlos and Anna Sousa.
In 2001 he and Francie and the boys moved to Victoria, BC to be foster parents. The move afforded him the luxury of year-round golfing where he finally got a hole in one at Olympic View. He returned to Winnipeg in 2019 to retire and reconnect with family.
He spent his summers golfing, and in the winter, he enjoyed cheering on his Winnipeg Jets. He leaves behind a large family and goes on to join his wife, Mother, Father and brother David in heaven.
Service for the Life of Donald Dewar will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Wednesday, December 28, 2022
at 11:00 a.m.
Following the service, the family would like you to join them for a time of fellowship and refreshment.
