Obituary for Donald (Don) Joseph Delisle

DONALD DELISLE
July 6, 1942 – March 19, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Don at Riverview Personal Care Home, on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Don was predeceased by his parents Irene and Adelard Delisle. Left to cherish his memory are his only sister Joan Dale (Jim), his two nephews; Christopher (Erin), and Andrew (Jean), and his four great-nephews; Jackson, William, Jacob and Samuel.

Don was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended John M. King, General Wolfe, and Daniel McIntyre Schools. After graduation he was employed by the Government of Canada for a proud 35 years.

Don was an avid traveler, taking him to many countries throughout the world. He particularly enjoyed his many trips with friends and family to Mexico and Florida for fun times, and rest and relaxation. After retirement he took up golf and spent a lot of his time on the courses in Manitoba.

Most important to Don was his family. He loved getting together for family dinners, birthdays, celebrations, relaxing over coffee with long conversations, and in particular visits to the cottage at Winnipeg Beach, where all the family would gather for so many happy, fun filled times.

Don was a gentle soul, with a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives.

Funeral services will take place at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at 11:00 a.m., March 29, 2022. A Private interment will take place at a later date.

A special thanks to Dr. Melanie McCannell, and the wonderful, caring staff of 2D at Riverview PCH.

In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Alzheimer Society, or Cancer Care would be appreciated.
