Obituary for Earla Maurine Ingram

EARLA MAURINE INGRAM

On March 28, 2023, after 92 wonderful years, mom went peacefully to be with her first and only true love, our dad John.

Mom is survived by her 4 children: Dianne (Terry), Dale (James), Doug (Sylvia), David (Colleen), her 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Ashleigh, Leah, Rebecca, Brynne, Brett and her 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Elmer Clark (Joanne), her nieces and nephews Kirsten, Christopher, Lesley and Paul. She was predeceased by her husband John in March 2014.

Mom was born January 26, 1931, in Hartney Manitoba but grew up in Winnipeg. She always had a fondness for her time spent at St Mary’s Academy and after graduating, worked at the Royal Bank of Canada, and then later in life at Hudson Bay House. She met dad in 1949 and they were married in 1952. They were married for 62 wonderful years.

Mom often told us that all she ever wanted to be was a full time mom to her children. She was always available to lend an ear and was eager to know what was going on in each of our lives. Even after we all grew up and married, we stayed in Winnipeg and lived close to her even after she moved into the Wellington Retirement Residence three years ago.

Mom was blessed with good health until just recently. She faced her current medical conditions with strength and positivity right up until the end.

Thank you to the Wellington staff, her wonderful home care nurses Lise and Kidist , and the staff at the Victoria General Hospital during her short stay at the end. The family would like to recognize mom’s nighttime companion, Abu, who was her guardian angel the last three nights.

Donations in her memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (Prostate Research) or the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.

As per mom’s wishes, there will be no formal service at this time. A family gathering will be arranged in the summer.
