Obituary for Frances Sinclair Glesby

Frances Sinclair Glesby (nee McKenny)
November 21, 1930 – June 16, 2022

Mom always said that the greatest gifts she was given were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. On June 16th as was her wish, she chose to peacefully leave this world to be with her beloved son William (Brian) surrounded by her “greatest gifts”. This day was also significant as it was her cherished mother’s birthday.

Our mother was a strong, independent woman. She had to be! She found herself raising seven (7) children on her own until she met the love of her life Paul Pelletier. Together they forged a beautiful 50 plus years together. Rarely were they ever apart.

The doors to their home on Ingersoll were always open. Many friends and family members travelling through town always had a place to stay. In later years you would find them together on the front porch visiting with neighbors, visitors and family, extending greetings to all that passed by.

Mom had a long and fulfilled life albeit marked with many challenges and health issues. She battled cancer twice and won! She survived countless surgeries and later in life endured the effects of CHF, spinal stenosis, arthritis, diabetes and kidney disease. Complain? Never! Her last words were of her love of life, her love of family and her thanks for the all the happy years together. She made it clear that she did not want to leave us, but her body would no longer allow it.

Mom is survived by her true love and soul mate Paul Pelletier. Her children; Edgar (Judy), (Sherry), Trudy, Russell (Tina), Wayne (Teresa), Patti (Frank), Raymond (Karen) and Doris Gregory. Her grandchildren; Robbie (Pam), Jamie (Tessa), Eddie (Cynthia), Vicki (Steve), Jennie (Ian), Adam, Janice (Paul), Colyn (Danielle), Meranda (Matteo), Kristy (Mike), Crystal, Jodie, Matthew (Annie), Scotty, Ashley (Will), Dylan (Melanie) and Sarah. Her great grandchildren; Sarah, Emma, Brendan, Andrew, Ryan, Liam, Gavin, Peyton, Bailey, Damien, Thea, Gary, Tyler, Dru, Sebastian, Merissa, Dalyn, Brandt, Trystan, Teagen, Austin, Samantha, Mya, Layla and Safiya. Her great, great grandchildren; Noah and Weston. She is also survived by her brother Ralph and sister Lilian and her special friend Andrea Chomyshyn.

Mom was predeceased by her precious son William Brian (Sherry) on March 25, 2022, her granddaughter Amanda, great grandson Vance, mother Helen, father Robert James I, brothers; Robert James II and her beloved Russell Lloyd Thompson, nieces Glenda, Penny and Cindy, nephew Brent, in-laws; Rose Glesby, Sarah Sinclair, Pauline and Louis Pelletier.

Thank you to Dr. Sheila Domke and the team of health and home care providers that took care of our parents. You went above and beyond the scope of your duties! Please know that you were very special to her, and she enjoyed your conversations. You were more than her caregivers.

Thank you to all who blessed our mother’s life with your love, caring and friendship past and present.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 – 5 pm on July 10th at John Osborn Veteran’s Club #1 (eulogy at 2 pm).

To those I love and those who loved me:
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love.
You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it’s time I travelled on my own.
So grieve a while for me
if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
If only for a while that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t’ be far away, for life goes on:
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see me or touch me.
I’ll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
All of my love around you soft and clear
And then when you must come
this way alone.
I’ll great you with a smile and say
“Welcome Home”
