Obituary for Frances Rosemary Kocian (Zolondek)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Frances Kocian at 85 years of age.

She is lovingly remembered by her children; Wayne (Mary-Ann), Cindy Petric (Danny), Keith (Yvonne), and Susanne (Lori), grandchildren; Kayla (Kylie), Jason (Laura), Tom (Denarah), Tyler (Chandria), Kaleigh (Drew), Nicole (Dylan), and Alexandra (Kurtis), great-grandchildren; Brielle, Lillian, Brody, Sloan, and Hunter, her sister; Elsie, and countless nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother; Frank and sisters; Mary and Jean.

Mom was born and raised on the family farm in Hazelridge, MB. She was a talented seamstress, sewing clothing, wedding gowns and draperies, ran a kindergarten from her home before the public schools added the classes, and worked at Woolco and Walmart until her retirement in 1997. Mom devoted all of her time and energy to provide a loving and happy home for her children. She loved music and in her early years enjoyed playing guitar and family sing-alongs with her kids, which lead to two generations of band practices in her basement. Her door was always open to our childhood friends, many of whom would stop by for a cup of coffee, help with a sewing project, or just to watch Another World with her. She absolutely cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their dance recitals, hockey games, and concerts, and treasured every moment of her visits with her family in Alberta. She left us far too soon, but we know her 4 legged grandbabies in heaven are so happy to have her with them.

We would like to thank the staff and residents at Devonshire House II for their friendship over the past 1 ½ years and for their quick reaction in her time of need.

Condolences may be left at www.neilbardalinc.com website.
