Obituary for Harold Kenneth Hardy

H.K. (Hal) Hardy
January 5, 1943-March 14, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Harold Kenneth Hardy.

Hal loved spending time with friends, family and most especially, his beloved wife and partner in all things, Brenda.

Hal lived the life he wished for. He had ups and downs, successes and challenges but above all, he had a lot of fun. As he’d promised, it was never boring.

During his membership in the Winnipeg Jaycees, Hal served as President of the unit and received a JCI Senatorship—the highest honor bestowed on a Jaycee.

Hal’s professional life spanned from the Signals Department at CNR to Manager of Business and Finance at the St. James-Assiniboia School Division to President and Owner of Buffalo Industries Ltd. where he worked along side his son for over 25 years.

Even after his retirement from Buffalo Industries, Hal never let the dust settle. He was on-the-go even while relaxing, which may be why boating was his favorite pastime. He could often be found, with a beer and a smile at the helm of Freedom IV on Lake of the Woods.

Hal will be sorely missed by his wife, Brenda Hardy(nee LeBeau), his children, Ken Hardy (Donna) and Cheryl Dallas (Clay), grandchildren, Lucas (Kaitlin), Julia, Brian, Cole and Kate and, sister and brothers, Murial, Tom, Doug and Norm,as well as by his special pal, 8-Ball, and many wonderful friends.

In accordance with Hal’s wishes, there will be no formal services.

We’d like to thank the WRHA Palliative Care team for their incredible support and help during Hal’s final journey.
