Obituary for Marjorie Gale Lamy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and dear friend Marjorie (Marj) Lamy at the age of 58.

She is survived by her husband Paul, daughters Kaylee (Jed) and Chelsey (Art).

Marj was born in McCreary MB and raised in Alonsa MB by her parents Alec and Dorothy along with her three sisters Leona, Mary, and Patricia. In 1983 she was accepted to Red River College where she took admin/secretary courses. Upon graduation Marj accepted a job with the provincial government, where she enjoyed her work for 37 years.

In 1984 she met Paul at a Hoof ‘N’ Holler Dance in Ste Rose Du Lac, MB. They were married in May of 1989. A few years later Marj and Paul bought their first house together in Winnipeg MB. Shortly thereafter they welcome their first child, Kaylee. Two years later they moved into a new house on Nemy Cres Where they lived since, and welcomed their second child, Chelsey.

Marj and Paul spent their summers travelling around to the province’s many campgrounds with their children. They loved the great outdoors and would often go cycling, kayaking, hiking, and swimming together. Often their nights would end gathered around the campfire enjoying music and each other’s company.

For their 25th anniversary Marj and Paul went on their first vacation to Cuba (Veradero). They quickly fell in love with escaping to warm, sunny beaches during the harsh Winnipeg winters.

Marj cherished spending her time with her family and her many friends, whether it was a family dinner, or a bonfire in the back yard. She was a loving and caring person all the way through, and will be remembered fondly by many.

You were taken from us much too soon but the love we have for you in our hearts will last forever.
Many thanks to the first responders and to the staff of St.Boniface Hospital who gave Marj the best possible care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date (yet to be declared) Donations made to Heart and Stroke foundation.
