Raymond Edgar Zerbin
March 25, 1960 – April 30, 2023
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Ray in his 63rd year, after a five-year courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, with family by his side. He was comforted knowing his family was by his side.
Ray was born in 1960 and raised in Winnipeg. In 2015 he moved to West St. Paul where he resided with his wife Kimberley of 42 years until the time of his illness and passing.
He is also survived by his son Darrell, daughter Krista, mother Muriel Zerbin, brother Brian, sister Debbie (Chris Chornick), nephew Nathan, brother-in-laws Les (Lois) and Gerry (Colleen) Walterson, nephews Trever (Melissa) Ryan, and niece Janie (Derrick), special friend Christy Adams (Carlos). He was also given a lot of support from family members Norma and Robert Walterson. Remaining at home are his four-legged furry family members Tara, Zoey, Missy, Lincoln and Wisdom.
Ray was predeceased by his father Edgar Zerbin, brother Peter, nephews Josh Chornick and Jason Walterson. He also had a special place in his heart for his maternal grandmother Grace.
Ray was employed at the North Main / Fort Rouge City of Winnipeg’s Transit Garage for 42 years and was just weeks away from his retirement. While raising a family Raymond enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, wildlife and drinking Tim Hortons coffee.
The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to the staff on 3E Palliative Care at the Riverview Health Centre, Cancer Care at St. Boniface Hospital, Drs. Krahn (St. Boniface Cancer Care), Lipschitz (Health Sciences Centre), and Nepon (Family Doctor Ret.).
In lieu of flowers if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care, Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of their own choosing.
A private celebration of life and interment will be held.
