Obituary for Richard McGregor
Richard’s journey of life began on September 26, 1952, in Brantford, Ontario and came to an end on April 29, 2023, with family by his side and in his heart.
Rick will be forever loved and forever missed by his wife Joan, children Steve (Emily), Karen, Peter (Jenn), Kristen (Doug), Leanne (J.F.) and his granddaughter “baby girl” Maïna.
Predeceased by his parents, Bob and Marg, he will be remembered always by his siblings, Debbie (Wayne), Paul (Sandi), Marty (Lorraine), Randy (Ruth) and Scott (Fionnuola), numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Rick’s insatiable curiosity fuelled his need to learn everything he could on earth and in space. He enriched all our lives with his “Rick facts” and his wealth of YouTube knowledge. If something piqued his interest, he had the patience to spend hours and days researching facts and mastering skills. Nothing pleased him more than to share these newfound abilities with anyone who wanted to learn.
His work life included working in Ontario, Quebec and ultimately in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he retired in 2017 from Canada Life as an IT Network Consultant. Retirement did not suit him well, and he quickly found employment with the Evergreen School Division.
Travel was always on the horizon, and he fortunately was able to enjoy several trips with his family. Although the plan to travel in his RV across Canada, the US and Mexico never manifested, we can rest assured that he is on his way now.

Keeping true to Rick’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Cancer Care. The family welcomes you to leave a memory of Rick or a “Rick fact”.
