Obituary for Robert Norman Cuddy

Robert Norman Cuddy passed on April 25, 2023, in Stonewall at the age of 75.

Bob will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Judy Cuddy, his three daughters, Christine Wolf (Otmar), Cynthia McLellan (Roman), Cheryl Smyth (Shaun) and his grandchildren Owen (Brooke), Alexander, Davan, Connor, Wyatt, Paige and great grandson, Archer. Bob will also be missed by his canine companion, Bandit.

Bob spent his youth and early adulthood in the city of Winnipeg. In 1966, he began working for the Manitoba Telephone System and worked there until he retired in September 2007. He moved to the Stonewall/Argyle area in the eighties after transferring to the Stonewall detachment. On July 29, 2000, Bob married Judy on his property, where he resided until his passing.

Bob was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, first at Lord Selkirk Lodge and St. John’s Lodge in Winnipeg and then at Lodge in Stonewall/Stony Mountain. He devoted over 50 years to his brethren and Freemasonry, which provided him with a guideline of how to aspire to live his life.

After retirement, Bob remained active in the community by volunteering his time with Victoria Lifeline through the Seniors’ Resource Council in Stonewall, helping those in need keep in contact with their health care providers and loved ones.

Bob was most comfortable supporting those around him, and his whole life was dedicated to taking care of his family. He received the most enjoyment watching from the sidelines, quietly encouraging achievements and commiserating with an open ear and quiet mind when needed. He led a full and active life; he was devoted to his family and extended family, and he will live on in our memories forever.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in early July for friends and family.
