Obituary

Obituary for Roger Charles Soens

Roger Charles Soens died peacefully at Misericordia Place on November 10. He leaves behind his wife Lynn, stepson Francis (Helga), step-grandaughter Margret, stepdaughter Lisa (Doug), step-granddaughters Madeleine and Amelia, his sisters Maria and Suzanna, sister-in-law, Sheril, many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Zoe Soens and his brothers Marcel and Gerard.
Roger worked at Building products for forty-four years. He loved sports especially his beloved Bombers and Jets. He was a member of Westminster Church and worked on the sound board for many years and was a calming influence on the Worship Committee.

Roger was a kind, gentle soul and had a great sense of humour and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Misericordia Place, Westminster Church or the Never Alone Foundation.

Remembering the fun Roger had playing Mexican Train (and usually winning). Remembering his skill at the Westminster United Church soundboard and his faithful presence, Sunday after Sunday. Remembering his strong spirit as his physical strength declined. And remembering how well Lynn cared for him.

Roger was such a good friend to my brother Bill. I can see the two of them together now, talking about sports and looking forward to the day when the Bombers are playing again. My condolences to you and your family, Lynn.

Dearest Lynn, All my sympathies and sincerest condolences on Roger's death. I am so sorry you'll be without him and without his wonderful sense of humour and fun. Any meeting with him always made one feel better. He so enjoyed his life and new experiences and was such a sweet, kind man.You were a great team.
