Obituary for Ronald Arthur Wood

Ron passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre.

He was born in Newdale, MB. He was in the Navy for five years, in the Korean Theatre of War. In 1954 he joined the Winnipeg Police Department, retiring after thirty-six years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Mavis and daughter Wendy Johnson, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, Ronald, Gary and Randy.

Ron always enjoyed a good game of crib and his pets.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be sent to Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3.

When I start my tour of duty God,
Wherever crime may be,
as I walk the darkened streets alone,
Let me be close to thee.
Please give me understanding
with both the young and old.
Let me listen with attention until
their story’s told.
Let me never make a judgement
in a rash or callous way,
but let me hold my patience
let each man have his say.
Lord if some dark and dreary night,
I must give my life,
Lord, with your everlasting love
protect my children and my wife.
