It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shannon Goebel on February 28, 2020. Shannon passed away after a brief battle with cancer at Riverview Health Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Serena Goebel, brother Alan Johnson, sisters Laurel Johnson and Lisa Ryall. She also leaves to mourn many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, Serena’s father Donald and her beloved dog Chrissy.
Shannon was pre-deceased by her parents Frederick and Eleanor Johnson, brother Solli and many other family members.
Shannon was born in Riverton, Mb where she grew up and left at young age to start her life in Winnipeg where she worked and resided for the rest of her life. Shan was a warm and loving mother to her daughter Serena who was her everything. They lived life as best friends, enjoying each other’s company, traveling to many destinations including twice to Iceland, the land of her ancestors. She was the creative and handy-woman in the family often doing home improvement in her leisure. Shan had a beautiful smile, and great love for her family. If anyone was in need, she was always there for them. She will be forever missed and her memory forever cherished.
Thank you to the Manitoba Palliative team, Dr.’s and staff at Riverview Health Center for their excellent care and compassion they gave Mom in her final days. Special thank you to Aunties Thelma, Lisa and Laurie for their help and support in caring for mom in her final days.
A private family Celebration of Life and Interment has taken place.
Donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 in her memory.
