Obituary for Sheldon Leslie Bardarson

Our family circle has been broken,
A link gone from our chain...

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother, uncle and friend Sheldon on Thursday, March 19th, 2020.

Left to mourn Sheldon’s passing are his parents Leonard & Lorraine, brother Corey (Tiffany Olson) nephews Mason & Conley, brother Darryl, girlfriend Sandy Jonson and Chaos his cat. Sheldon was predeceased by his grandparents Siggi & Alice Bardarson and Finnur & Gudrun Markusson.
We will remember Sheldon as being patient, gentle and kind. He had the ability to bond with people, whether young or young at heart, and he made many friends throughout his short life. He liked to tease and joke around, inevitably followed by a very hearty laugh. And, although he struggled with numerous adversities over the past eleven years, he managed to maintain his sense of humour.

After completing high school, Sheldon attended Red River College obtaining a Diploma in Computer Accounting. He then gained employment with the Arborg Credit Union Ltd. where he worked until his disability prevented him from doing so. Sheldon was so very proud to have served his community as a member of the Arborg-Bifrost Fire & Emergency Services.

Sheldon enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Gardening became a past time, and we all looked forward to enjoying his homemade borsht and dill pickles. From a very young age, Sheldon enjoyed playing cards, and he would never pass up the opportunity to play, and the games would usually go on for hours. However, he was happiest when he could spend his spare time lending a hand on one of the local dairy farms. His huge collection of various toy farm implements is evidence of his keen farming interests.
Plans for a private family gathering are pending. Please share your memories and photos with us on Sheldon’s tribute wall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Klinic Community Health for counselling services specific to PTSD; the Movement Disorder Clinic-Deer Lodge Centre, c/o The Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, for research in Functional Movement Disorders and the Motor Retraining Program; or the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund.

Rest In Peace Dearest Sheldon - Goda Nott Elskan
Peacefully sleeping, resting at last
His weary trials and troubles are past,
In silence he suffered, in patience he bore
Till God called him home to suffer no more.
